Announcements:  Websites are to be up by now. Projects are to be identified by now. Recruitment process should be up by now. October 6 and 7 all student teachers except history and English will be in the performance center from 9:00-3:00 to put together an inquiry based lesson. Stop by and see what is going on.

ASSET: Vince from ASSET was here yesterday. Dr. Cignetti and he were discussing California being an associate to ASSET, into business for in service training for local schools and what they feel they need. Funding is there to get setup, but the schools will pay for the service. The schools have funds available for resources like this. Both the dean from education and science are on board with this idea. This is an investment for the future. The standards will be based on teaching and learning. We will have an effectiveness audit that shows the fact that we are effective through assessment. Vince will stop in some Wednesday to talk to us.

Orders for 03/04: Start looking around and creating a list for new materials in the room. We are probably looking at spending $5,000-$7,000. We need to order software fro the laptops, so keep your eyes open for that. Look for the latest books out in your field, Andrea Wyman can help at library if needed.

Summer LASER Event: In July in Pittsburg the leaders from colleges, universities, and high schools will be attending the summer LASER conference. ASSET is a major supporter so we may be able to go one day and sit in on our subjects. This is to make improvements in science education programs with the consideration of the standards.  There is more to come later.

Next CETP Conference: This will be held at Clarion.

10/6-7/03: Stop up at the Natali Center to see inquiry teaching in the performance center.

11/18/03: At 9:30-1:30 the summer inquiry based teachers will be back to talk about what happened with their lessons. They are going to talk about what worked and what did not work. Feel free to stop into Eberly to sit in on the discussion. Representatives from six different schools will be there.

Monograph: We are to pass out the paper about the monograph to all the teachers in our discipline.

Adjourned: 12:30p.m.
