| The purpose of this site is to assist in researching Native American Ancestry in our families. This journey can be quite daunting at times. Many of our ancestors had to live with the fear of persecution and death........some went onto the rez, others may have gone into IT in other parts of the region, and some disappeared by assimilation. In my family in particular, an oral tradition of 'healing with herbs and nature' has been passed down from one generation to the next......a tradition that we hold close to our hearts and will share with the next generation to come and so on. Within some families, it seems the traditions have been lost and are all but gone. That is sad. Hopefully researching your roots and rediscovering your heritage will put you in contact with some of your relations however distant. Hope my page will be a good 'jumping off' for you. :) |
