Appearance: Tarak is a somewhat small, slenderly-built cervidan. He is middle-aged, for a cervidan, and has sandy brown-blond hair not yet streaked with grey, but getting there. It's rather curly and hangs to his human shoulderblades, though he often ties it back to keep it out of his face when hunting. He has a pair of small, two-pointed antlers on his head. His skin is somewhat pale, but with darker freckles, and his large, round eyes are a greeny-gold color. His deer half has pale, creamy-brown fur, with paler fur on his belly and underside of his tail.
Personality: Very friendly and outgoing, Tarak has a winning personality and makes even shy strangers right at home with him. He is very kind and gentle, willing to help those in need, and doesn't like violence (though he's a pretty good shot with his longbow). He also tends to daydream and sometimes has trouble focusing on what's going on around him, and he's just as happy by himself or with just his hawk, Nasami, as he is around other people. He's extremely devoted to his mate and son, and sometimes a little overprotective of them.
Past: Tarak has lived in the forest his entire life, and he loves exploring every inch of it and hunting with his bird. He grew with only his father, as his mother died in childbirth when he was still fairly young-a common scenario with cervidans-and the baby was stillborn. When he was 25, ten years ago, he met his mate, and almost lost her three years later in childbirth as well. But she survived, despite losing the child, and Tarak decided he wouldn't put his beloved mate in danger again by having children. Nevertheless, she became pregnant again, and this time, both she and the baby survived.
Just recently, a young cervidan from their village, named Nyscer, bonded a brown dragon called Domach and told them about a large frenzy of dragons at the human's kindom of Myrithica. The elders were interested in learning more about these dragons and decided to send two representatives from their village to the clutch, to try and bond dragons. Tarak immediately voluntered, despite his mate's protests. (That clutch turned into a dud, so he moved offworld, to Serpent's Reach, to try again.)
