| Name: Rikoe Race: Cervidan Gender: Male Age: 24 Family: Father deceased, mother alive, twin sister and her mate; lives with his mate, Ryet Build: Stocky Skin: Creamy Hair: Sandy brown, straight, to high back Eyes: Pale blue Fur: Brown with creamy underbelly Appearance: Rikoe is a stocky cervidan, with creamy, tanned skin and slanted pale blue eyes. His hair is sandy brownish-blond, very neat and straight, and it hangs to around his shoulderblades when not pulled back. His deer half is covered in rich brown fur, with pale cream on his belly and the tip of his tail. He has a pair of three-pointed antlers. Personality: Kind and rather gentle, Rikoe is quite friendly and outgoing, but he can be rather self-absorbed as well. He just doesnt think of others and how he relates to them all that often. He likes to think the best of people and is willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, but hes not blindly trusting. Past: Rikoes father was killed in a hunting accident when he was young, and he spent most of his life growing up with his mother and his twin sister. He and his sister were quite close growing up, and to an extent, they still are. He knew his own mate, Ryet, growing up, but it was some years before he actually got the nerve up to talk to her. They do not have any children; the one time they tried, Ryet miscarried, and they decided to wait. Bond: Male SaaShiyovi, Rantanu Pets: Male harpy eagle, Slantas Female feruginous hawk, Bhaeri |

| Five years ago, cervidans had been introduced to outsiders, humans and other species from other worlds, as well as the dragons who lived with them. For the historically shy and reclusive cervidans, the response was phenomenal, with many of the younger cervidans volunteering to leave their homes to bond dragons of their own, coming back two or three years later to show off their bond. Some of these bonded cervidans returned home to live with their dragon in the villages, others only visited. But it wasnt always the young, unattached cervidans who were fascinated with the dragons.
Ryets mismatched blue and green eyes narrowed when Rikoe told her the news, that he was planning to take a trip offworld to try to bond a dragon of his own. He winced; he could already tell his mate didnt like the news. Why in the world would you want to do something like that? She snapped; Ryet didnt really like the idea of dragons all that much herself, and she didnt see the point. Im coming back. Its not like Im going away forever, Rikoe said with a roll of his eyes. I think it would be interesting, and besides, having a dragon around could be useful; theyd make good hunters, if nothing else. Hed thought it was a good idea, but he didnt think Ryet agreed with him. She frowned and stamped a hoof in irritation. And what am I to do while youre gone for a year, or two, or more? she asked, looking up at him. Oh, he hadnt paid much attention to that. Well, maybe I wouldnt have to stay that long, or I could bring my bond back early, he said eagerly. If you bond at all, Ryet said with a snort. Even she knew that bonding wasnt a sure thing; it was the dragons choice, no one elses. She saw the look in his eyes, and her expression softened a little. This was something he really felt strongly about. She gave a sigh. Where are you going? And how are you getting there? Rikoe smiled happily. Im not sure yet. Ive narrowed it down to a few places; most probably, a place called the Valley of the Sky. He gave a shrug. There are a few dragons large enough to carry a cervidan there. Im sure one of them can accommodate me, he said with a smile. His mate cocked an eyebrow skeptically. You can ride one? They have a special harness. Huh, Ryet replied. Tell them to get two ready, then. Rikoe blinked. What? She fixed him with another glare. Im not letting you go off on your own. Im going to go with you. He smiled slowly, and then came up beside her and wrapped one of his arms around his mates shoulders. Thank you. Ryet gave a hmph, but there was a hint of a smile all the same. |
