Guidelines on Class Suspension
For the most part, we try to follow the review class schedule to the letter. Disruption of classes due to suspensions are difficult as the review class would have to be rescheduled and the reviewer may not be available on the new date. Let us try to remind ourselves that this is not a college class that should be so easily rescheduled.
Floods
Floods can both happen as expected due to a typhoon, or unexpectedly, due to short periods of heavy rain. Even a short duration heavy downpour can cause flooding in the Espana area. The general benchmark is if Espana is unpassable to public vehicles, then classes are suspended.
Disasters
Natural disasters such as an earthquake are typically unexpected. Man made disasters, such as a fire close to the building, can be immediately determined  Classes may be suspended in the middle of a class to evacuate the building. Classes would not be pre-suspended unless it has been determined that there is a danger entering the building.
Typhoons
We follow the same guidelines for declaring suspension of classes as established by CHED for collegiate level students. However, classes may still be suspened for lower typhoon signals, if they cause heavy flooding and render travel impossible.
Black-Outs
Power Outages in the middle of the class will not cause suspension of classes. We are equiped with a generator which can provide for power until the class has been finished.
Strikes
Strikes and mass demonstrations that pass through Espana going to Mendiola usually do not last long (although they are a source of bad traffic conditions). Classes will not be suspended due to stikes or ralleys unless the civil disobedience becomes violent and authorities declare areas going into the review center as restricted areas. Rallies in front of PRC are also not considered a reason to suspend classes.
Holidays
Holidays fall into two categories. Working and Non-working holidays. Working holidays means review classes go on. In general, a non-working holiday will also mean that there are no classes for that day. Schedules have been prepared to compensate for known non-working holidays. April Board Examinations have been compensated with the scheduled non working holidays and the Novermber Examinations have the scheduled. Christmas Break. However, from time to time, Malacanang may declare a certain day as a non-working holiday. Generally, these holidays would not suspend classes.
Pre-Planned Suspensions
Since the office provides the schedule for both the reviewees and reviewer, we are confident that there would be hardly, if ever, suspension of classes due to the absence of the scheduled reviewer. Each subject has a primary and alternate reviewers who are prepared ahead of time for lectures (as they are experts of the field) and can come in moments notice to support a class.
