To Whom It May Concern:
I became acquainted with Mike Edison when he enrolled in the Summer Introductory
Astronomy course in 1993. I enjoyed having Mike in this class. He seemed
to be intriusically interested in the subject matter, and did well in the course,
finishing near the top, 5th in a class of 17.
Mike is a personable, likable person. He gets along well with others,
assumes the responsibility of his own education, and exhibits a mature,
stable character. He contributed in the Astronomy Labs as well as the class,
by asking questions noticing subtle detail in the telescopes as he was viewing
particular objects, or making comments about his personal experiences with
various aspects of the class and lab.
He is a dedicated student. He had attended college while still fulfilling
his role as husband, father and bread-winner. Perhaps because of his situation,
Mike exhibits a sense of direction, a goal that many students do not have. He
was committed to finishing his degree, finding a teaching position, and doing the
best he can for kids. In my opinion, Mike has the personality, commitment and
intelligence to make a dedicated, excellent teacher.
