To whom it may concern:
I am pleased to write in support of Mike Edison's interest for a teaching
position in your school. I first met Mike in 1994 when he was a student in my
Education 302, "Technology for Teaching" class and I have found hime to be a young
man of exceptional intellect, character and ability.
As a student in my class and later as a student teacher, Mike was dependable and
responsible in his work and cheerful and outgoing in his relationships with
others. He approaches problems creatively and is an enthusiastic worker.
He could always be depended upon to do far more than was required of him.
Mike possesses substantial knowledge of computers and their use in classroom
instruction. He is expecially talented in the area of multimedia and has
helped develop a number of interesting media projects for classroom use. In
my class, Mike worked with CD-ROM, laserdisc, digital video and sound and other
advanced technologies and demonstrated mastery of multimedia authoring tools
including HyperCard and graphics software. He is equally at home with both
Macintosh and IBM hardware and software and has a thorough understanding of the
Macintosh operating system and Windows '95. Mike is also knowledgable of
spreadsheet and database management, having designed and created custom
applications for his own tree care business.
In addition, Mike is familiar with instructional uses of the Internet and the
World Wide Web and has mastered the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) used in
creating web content. I believe that his technological and teaching skills
would be an asset to any school district.
If you have questions regarding Mike and his qualifications, please do not
hesitate to contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Lee Montgomery, Ph.D.
