Coach Bacon's Comments

Our summer schedule is now over. I felt like we were very competitive and improved each game. We saw some good things from many different players. We are excited about the upcoming 2009-2010 season.

The summer schedule is set and plans for the 2009-10 season are underway. I am currently doing individual meetings with each player. We are working on goal setting. The main focus is basketball, but we are also having them set goals, for other sports they play, acedemics, and for future plans, such as college and or the work force. I feel that setting goals is important and am trying to impress upon our players that thinking about goals, and taking action, now, will help them take steps, twords attaining them in the future. Bronco Camp information has been updated and the 2009 summer schedule page has been updated on our site as well. As always please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions about any summer activities.

Thanks, and GO BRONCOS!

Our season is now over after losing to Central A & M in the regional semi-final game. This was my 11th season as a basketball coach, and I can honestly say was probably the most enjoyable. Our team had great chemistry and worked extremely hard and played with such heart. They cared more about the name on the front of the jersey, then the name on the back.

Our two seniors, Tyler Phelps, and Drew Minton, have truly left their mark on our program. Tyler has been so important to our success over the last three seasons. He does so many things, most of which never show up on a stat sheet. He is a great young man and the most coachable player I ever had. Drew Minton's statistics, and records speak for themselves. He is truly one of the best basketball players to ever step foot in Cerro Gordo Gymnasium, and with out a doubt the best player I have every coached.

A big thank you to all our players, parents, and anyone that support Cerro Gordo Basketball this year. It was a fun season.
