The 0607 Broncos started off the year slowly, however they finished very strongly. The teams' record after the first eight games was 1-7. However in mid season broncos got on a roll winning 10 out of 14 games. During this run the team captured 3rd place in the LOVC tournament. The Broncos were ranked #9 and started the tournament with a win over #6 ranked Sangamon Valley. A more difficult task followed as the #2 ranked Atwood-Hammond Rajas were next. It took a game winning shot but the broncos came out victorious. In the semi final game the broncos lost to eventual tournament champion, Arcola. So that ment a battle for third against rival school, Bement. The boys rallied back after being down as many as 11 points and defeated the Bulldogs to capture the first trophey in bronco basketball since 2002.
Our Senior Night proved to be a memorable one. Our lone Senior, Jeff Bolt, was honored before the game. We sent him out with a bang with an overtime/last second shot win over Heritage. The team entered regionals playing very good basketball. We defeated Argenta/Oreana in the first round and our season was ended in the second round by a 3 point loss to St. Teresa.
