What is FDA?
Fashion Dolls Anonymous is a mailing list for doll collectors and enthusiasts to chat about fashion dolls.  Whether you would like to talk about Barbie® Doll, Gene, Candi, Jenny, Sindy or any other doll, your comments are welcome.  If you prefer to keep your dolls nrfb, like to customize dolls, or take your dolls out of the box and play with them, your comments are welcome.  The main purpose of FDA is to have fun.

What is a mailing list?
If you haven't been on a mailing list before or are unsure as to what a mailing list is, Well, a mailing list is a way for lots of people with common interests to exchange information with each other.
There is a centralized address called the server address.  Everyone sends their email to the server and the server sends that mail to everyone on the list.  Basically you end up exchanging email with lots of people.
It is a great way to hang out with friends and meet new friends that have the same interests as yourself...  There are literally thousands of mailing lists out there, enough of them that everyone should be able to find one that they enjoy.
It is like an online chat in that you are talking to lots of people, but it has the convenience of email.  You can check your email and get your messages at any time that you wish.

Please consider posting an introduction about yourself to the list or at least saying hi to the group.

TO POST to this list, send mail to [email protected] and please post only in plain text.

Although FDA is an open list, all subscriptions must be approved by the list manager; this is to protect the members of the list.

THIS IS a place to share the joys and tribulations, the fun and the frustration, and the ups and downs of fashion doll collecting.  Posts about any types of dolls are welcome here.

Personal (OT) posts are also welcome (within reason--please see rules) as we'd like members to be able to get to know one another.  We are striving for a friendly, open forum for doll discussion here, so be nice and have fun! :-)

FOR SALE lists are welcome here.  The list owners are not in any way responsible for any transactions that occur due to posts on FDA.  We ask that you please contact us via *private email* if you have a problem with a transaction.  You can contact either [email protected]  OR [email protected].  Please limit any FS posts to not more than *one* per day.

RULES
1.  Absolutely NO flaming will be tolerated.  This includes criticism of individuals (whether or not they are list members) and also includes direct criticism of other posts.  Opinions can be debated; please don't give/take it personally.

2.  No attachments allowed.  Please describe attachments and send them to people personally if requested.  Also, post only in *plain text* format.  Using html causes mailbox crashes for some members.

3.  No spam.  Please do NOT post chain letters or requests for "Johnny in the hospital" etc.  These things are usually well intended but are not welcome onlist.   This also includes subscribing to the list PRIMARILY and ONLY for the purpose of posting for sale lists.

4.  Any off topic posts (not doll-related) should be denoted with OT in the subject heading.  Please do not send posts with no subject heading.

5. We reserve the right to stop *excessive* OT topics onlist and ask that they be taken to personal email.

6.  Please--no religious, political or sex discussions onlist.  Also, please refrain from use of profanity and/or excessively crude language.  This is not the place for such things.  We may have young members and we'd prefer to stay away from such controversial topics.  Prayer requests are fine.

7.  No posts about what you're bidding on at ebay.  Feel free to discuss ebay in general, in all other aspects.

8.  Please do NOT crosspost to other lists.  It creates confusion for the servers and the post may not get through to FDA.

9.  Each person is responsible for his/her own posts.  If you have bad dealings with someone, please don't post to the list about it.  Remember that liable and slander are prosecutable by law.  If you have a problem you want to make people aware of, ask that list members email you personally for details.

10.  Please use common courtesy and common sense when posting.

11.  We reserve the right to change/add rules as needed to keep this list as enjoyable as possible for everyone here.

LEGALESE:  Please remember that copyright laws must be obeyed.  Do not forward any posts without written consent; do not forward other printed matter without attributing where it came from and giving proper credit.

NOTE:  We are all human and we all make mistakes.  If a rule is violated unintentionally, a reminder will be issued.  If the reminder is ignored or if a rule is ignored, a warning will be issued.  Those who ignore warnings will be removed from the list.  Thank you for your cooperation.
