There is growing speculation that Chris Jericho will step up to the next level and main event against Austin at King of the Ring. Many feel that this angle will freshen up the upper card as it is not a repeat match from a few storylines ago as it has been recently. If this does happen it quashes rumors that Austin and Trips have been keeping possible main eventers down to the mid card to save their own positions.
It is also thought that Chris Benoit will win the KIng of the Ring tournement in an attempt to get him over as a face.
