Article xiv

Section 5.   Scholorships will be awarded with he applicants understanding of the importance and benefits of the trade union movement being the paramount criteria.  However, other factors must also be considered.  The Awards committee will, therefore, assess the applications received and award the scholorships based on a formula of:

5%     -     Academic achievment
5%     -     Seconday Teacher's Report
70%   -     Essay accompanying the application (on the Union Movement)
20%   -     Extra curricular activities

Essay Guidlines
- Should not exceed 500 words.
- Should be type written for carlity
- Should include a brief history of the union movement
                    - origins and structure
                    - community involvement
                    - benefit to the members family
                    - political involvment
                    - betterment of you and your family personally, etc
