CEP Local 848 - Scholorships

The members of CEP Local 848 have expressed a desire to provide two (2) five hundred dollar ($500.00) scholorships for post secondary education for two (2) deserving childeren of CEP Local 848 members each year.  This Scholorship will be awarded in October of 2003 and each October thereafter.

Eligibility Rules:

1.  The candidate must be the son or daughter or legal ward of a CEP Local 848 member.

2.  The parent must be a current member in good standing of CEP Local 848 as of September 30th in the year of the application.

3. The candidate must be enroled in a bona fide post secondary program, in a public or private university, college or trade school in the year of the application.

4.  The candidate may apply in any year that they are enrolled in the post seconday program.

5.  No person will be awarded the scholorship more than one time. 

6.  The candidate will provide proof of enrollment in a post secondary program in the form of a receipt for fees paid or a cancelled cheque for tuition or residence paid from your educational institution. The year your reciept or cheque is dated will be for the same as year that your application is made.  For example, to apply in 2004 you must have a reciept or cancelled cheque dated in 2004. Photo copies are acceptable.

7.  The Candidate will complete the application form provided.

8.  The candidate will submit a 300 word essay on "The Union Movement in Canada" or The Union Movement in Ontario" or "The Union Movement in Sarnia and Lambton County" or provide proof of fifteen (15) hours of community service with a "not for profit" agency, or union, or other progressive institution in their community.

9.  Have your parent give the application to any executive member of CEP Local 848 or send it to:
