THE YOU'RE IN MY HEART SERIES YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT EPILOGUE ~~~~~ BORA BORA "After I got the car out, we made it to New York," Methos relayed, then got up from his chair and yawned. "No more stories of tragedies past... such as Amanda's first turn behind the wheel. It's past my bedtime. You coming to bed, Amanda?" "In a bit." Amanda smiled. "You go on; I'll be in soon." Methos walked over and kissed her, then turned to Joe. "See ya in the morning." "Night, Methos," Joe said. Amanda and Joe sat in companionable silence once Methos retired. The first hints of morning could be seen on the horizon. "Can I ask you a couple of questions?" Joe asked as he shifted to a more comfortable position. "Sure," Amanda yawned. "What happened to Elaine Wentworth?" Amanda smiled triumphantly. "Let's just say they lived the life of poverty, disgrace, and Elaine was able to refine her dancing skills, until she broke a hip in the mid 1940s. They came to realize they don't cross Roger Sothem and Amanda Sinclair." "I'm sure they're not the first," Joe laughed. "What about Herbert?" "He lived to be ninety-nine," Amanda replied wistfully. "The old rascal was sharp as a tack until the day he died. We had a couple more adventures together. I still miss him. Methos was with him when he died; nearly broke his heart, but he's always had a hard time letting friends go. They were together for over sixty years." "You'd think it'd get easier after a while," Joe said sadly. "Believe me, Joe, it doesn't," Amanda said. "Once you're Methos' friend, there isn't anything he won't do for you." Joe nodded. He knew that first hand. "So what's next for you two? A wedding perhaps?" "Oh, no, Joe," Amanda protested. "We're just fine like we are. Best friends with benefits suits us just fine. Further more, I shudder to think what other earth shattering event might happen if we ever managed to tie the knot." "You make quite a pair," Joe replied. "Now what?" "Methos hasn't been to Rebecca's grave, so we're going to visit it," Amanda told him. "Mourn her loss together like we should have after Luther killed her." Amanda stood up and stretched, heard Methos' grandfather clock toll once. "We should get to bed." "One more question, Amanda." "Shoot." "Did you keep the ring?" "What do you think?" Joe smiled when she walked into the house singing Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend'. THE END Thanks for reading! <g> Please tell us what you think of it |
