This is my world
You're part of it
I may not know you
Well just a bit

Scribbling fast to take down notes
The teacher nods and speaks
Walking down the lane with friends
Friends that laughter seeks

The leaves are falling down to earth
Golden, brown and red
A fresh new grade to meet and make
To remember all that's said

Raindrops patter on the roof
The bitter chill draws out the jackets
Daily life's routine by now
Graphs, essays and rackets

A hurricane of energy
Begins to rise in feeling
As the rain starts to lessen
And the flowers start abounding

Each day takes you closer
To thinking of how time went by
Did you make the right decisions
Have you answered what and why?

Who's made your heart break
Or made it smile?
Maybe it's the same person
Gotta think of that a while

Layers of clothing begin to thin
A sense of freedom dawns
Just final exams to overcome
Then get that gorgeous bronze

You wave goodbye to another year
As you look up and face the sky,
Gathering all you've learned and yet to learn
With a wistful but satisfied sigh

This is my world
You're part of it
If I don't know you
Then I'll admit

But I think someday I'll meet you
Hoping I'll treat you kind
So when time decides to pass us by
It's what you'll keep in mind
