Equipment Used: Digital cameras, tape recorders for EVP, digital recorders for EVP, digital video cameras with night shot, EMF detectors, digital thermometers.
Weather: It was raining early in the night, but the rain stopped well before these pictures were taken. The humidity remained very high... but that is pretty much true for LA on any given day. Temperature range from start of investigation (10:00pm) to finish (4:00am)was between 78 and 86 degrees.
Our Investigation: We were disappointed that we did not get any EVP at the plantation. Our initial sweep of the property with the EMF detectors led us to believe that there were many buried electrical lines causing fluctuations in the EMF, especially near the front of the house.
We began our investigation around 10:00pm in the back of the house near the gazebo. My video camera would not focus at all... I thought maybe it was my camera, but then after talking to some other investigators staying at the house, they also reported some unusual things with their electronic equipment back there. When I used the video camera anywhere else around the house, it worked just fine. This is the only picture that came out with an anomaly. Notice the mist on the left of the picture:

Next, we made our way around the side of the house heading toward the front. The following pictures were taken between 10:30pm and 11:30pm. The first unusual picture on the side of the house had a pinkish/orange streak with some orbs as well. As we continued around to the front of the house, the anomolies all had this same type of color. None of the colors have been changed in these photos. The first is on the side of the house and the last two were taken in the front yard.
Two other investigators joined us at the front of the house around midnight. We began to pick up some temperature drops of ~10 degrees. I began to take pictures toward the cold spots. The first one has that pink color again. In the second picture, the two investigators appear to be surrounded by orbs.
We took a break at this point to recharge our equipment. At 2:00am, we headed back out to the front of the house. Se spent some time sitting on the porch trying to record some EVP but were unsuccessful. We had much better luck with the photography. These were taken from the porch out towards the front yard. All three pictures were taken with the cameral completely still and these strange streaks of light appeared. Notice the large orb above the investigators head in the third picture as well as the strange streaked light.
Finally, around 3:30, I was taking some picture in the courtyard when I noticed this pinkish mist to the left of this photograph.
Around 4:00 am, we decided to call it a night. Nothing out of the ordinary happened in our room while we were sleeping... or maybe we were just so tired we didn't know it.
This was a great investigation and I would recommend the Myrtles Plantation for anyone looking for an exciting night of ghost hunting! If you have any questions or comments, please email me!
