Investigation of Residence in Amarillo, TX

Date of Investigation:  May 31st, 2005

Investigators:  Sarah, Paulina, Morgan, and Crystal

What we knew before hand:  The owner contacted me several months ago claiming that she had some unusual experiences and wanted us to check it out for her.  She described several incidences that seemed to warrant an investigation.  The occurrences began in a different home on the same block, but after having moved into this house, they have continued.  Owner reports this has gone on for nearly 15 years.

 Some of these occurrences include:  A picture of a deceased relative in the bedroom was often found knocked off or even in another room;  shower turning on in the middle of the night; water appearing out of nowhere and dripping on owners head while in her bedroom; knocking sounds on the wall in another bedroom; other objects being knocked off the cabinets for no apparent reason, cold spots; owner and friends reported being 'touched' on the face and a feeling of someone putting an arm around their shoulders;  a candle started burning on it's own in the living room;  as well as many unusual vortex-looking photographs were taken in the house.

Our goal:  The owner is not afraid of this activity and feels like this spirit might be here to watch over her.  She asked us to document objective evidence to prove that something was in the house and to try to get a name of who it might be.

Equipment used:  Digital photography, digital video recording, cassette and digital voice recorders, EMF detectors, infrared scanning thermometers.

Our First Visit:  5:45 pm.  We arrived at the house to take a look around and interview the owner, but almost immediately began feeling some strange things.  These were subjective in nature, but I experienced them personally as did the other team members.  I didn't even have my equipment out yet to measure the temperature, but as I stepped near the kitchen, I felt a spine-tingling, very cold sensation that ran all the way up my back to the back of my neck.  Every hair on my head and body was standing straight up. I felt as if something had gone 'through' me and chilled me to the very core!  It lasted about 15 seconds, and then was gone.  Just moments later as I walked in the living room, it happened again.  The owner told me to come sit next to her on the couch because she could feel that he was there with her.  As soon as I sat down, I felt it again.   This happened 7 times during that first hour that we were there for the initial interview.  I asked Crystal to take a picture once when I was in the living room and I was getting this sensation, and this is the picture that we got.

During this first hour in the house, we also picked up temperature drops of 5 to 8 degrees in the locations where the owner reported that she 'felt' the spirit's presence.  The EMF detectors were picking up changes in the electromagnetic field in several locations throughout the house. After careful examination it was found that there were electrical lines above one bedroom of the house but there was no other appliances or equipment in the other rooms that should have caused changes in the EMF.  Several times in the living room, the EMF would go off and on repeatedly while the detector was held in one location.

Other subjective feelings that were reported by the team:  Crystal reported feeling extremely sad when in the bedroom.  She was brought to tears for no apparent reason.  Paulina reported feeling sick to her stomach while she was in the house.

Morgan had an experience with the water:  While doing some readings in the bedroom, water dropped onto his arm.  This happened twice during that initial hour.  After careful examination and inspection of the ceiling and the carpet, there did not appear to be a leak of any kind.  We never found an explanation for this.

We left the house at 6:55 pm and would return later for further investigation.

Our Return to the House:  10:30 pm  We arrived back at the house, set up our equipment and began our investigation.  Nothing unusual was experienced for the first hour.  We recorded with digital video cameras in both the bedroom and the living room.  We attempted to get some EVP in every room of the house trying to get a name or a reason for the activity.  Again, Crystal began crying in the bedroom and could not explain why she felt this way.  We also took digital photographs throughout the house.  At around 11:30 pm, I began to get those bone-chilling sensations throughout my body again.  We got a few readings in the EMF and temp. guages and took pictures during these times.   Here are a few of the pictures that appear to be paranormal orbs taken in conjunction with the equipment readings.

The picture of the relative that was always being found in other rooms was put on this end table.  We all sat around near the table and tried to get some sort of 'feeling' of who this was or why they were there.  This orb on the curtain was caught when the owner asked the spirit to blow out the candle.  It did not blow out, but the flame flickered as if it were about to go out and Crytal took a picture.

When the owner reported that she could feel 'it' near her, Crystal took a picture.  This orb was located just above the owner's head as she sat on the couch. I cropped the picture so that she was not in the picture.

There seems to be two, possibly three orbs in this photograph.  One near the top left, one larger one at the top middle, and possibly one on the wall in the bottom quadrant of the picture.

Our Results:  After careful inspection of the video and EVP recordings, we were disappointed that nothing unusual was picked up by either method. We were not able to give the owner the information she desired about the name or cause of what was going on.  However, this was not at ALL a disappointing investigation!   With the subjective feelings and emotions we all felt, the orbs in the photographs, all in conjunction with the EMF and temperature readings, as well as the water incident, all four of us agreed that there probably IS something paranormal occurring in the house.  I would like to do another investigation at some point at this location.  I hope the owner learned a little about what we do and I was sorry that we were not able to give her more answers this time.
