People working in the Underground, train and bus services but also on the Eurostar or the Ferries to Calais are also often confronted to people who can't speak English. You also have to speak French, German or Spanish if you want to work on airlines and it can make the difference for a taxi-driver as well!
Of course, you absolutely need to speak at least one foreign language when you wish to work in a tourist information centre and it is also very useful if you want to work in a travel agency.
