This page is dedicated to the fond memories of my school,my teachers and to my classmates who are just like an extended family to each other; and this is a unique phenomenon that we still hold "get togethers" and see each other.
The Govt.Central Model School,Lower Mall,Lahore was one of the most prestigious schools of our time.
Its unique architectural blend of colonial British Gothic & Oriental style in brickwork with arches,corridors
and fort-like structure with an array of tiny domes, is an architectural landmark of Lahore,even today.
On the Academics side,Our School was always ahead of others.It bagged positions in Board Examinations year after year.
The school sports teams were always the leading ones.
The school band was a fine piece of orchestral effort of our bandmaster(from Patiala!).The Military bands of today give
us a faint reminisence of our school band.One of those in the school band
is now a full fledged Music composers,i.e M. Arshad (PTV-Karachi).
The JCC was a kind of its own in combat training, something which other schools of that time could only dream of.
In 1965 when India secretly attacked Lahore,some of the students from our school trained JCC, rushed towards the
border and defended Lahore alongwith BSF, untill the army came in.One of those brave volunteers is in Foriegn service now named "Zubair Bukhari".
The school produced many celebrities;Out of them, one of the most outstanding person is the "Prof.Dr.Abdus Salaam" who won the prestigious "Nobel Prize" in "Physics" and earned respect for Pakistan in the whole world.We certainly are very proud of him,our senior school fellow!!.
To name some other who rose to fame are; "Nawaz Sharif","Shehbaz Sharif",
"Wasim Sajjad","Khalid Abbas Darr", "Shoaib Hashmi","Late Malik Meraj Khalid" etc.
The following are the "active classfellows" in arranging get-togethers;
and keeping track of each other.
