Hey Arlene,

My mom would get a big kick out of you and I posting back and forth. I actually think if she were here still that she might even get on this silly thing and tell you hello. When she wasn't telling all of us how crazy you were she spoke very highly of you I just think it's neat and I wanted to tell you so. Thank you for the cheerleading socks..... I do not even remember but I was brain dead when I was 16. Missed out on a lot because of it too. But had loads of fun just the same. I really liked cheerleading when I was in it. But mostly I enjoyed watching this good looking football player I knew.
Cheerleaders smoked... that is all there was to it!
Where there is a will there is a way! As far as the hour,> ...just wasn't tired Arlene.... and The Mets are just saving it all for last! You watch and see!
ps...I am not drooling yet...

As a matter of fact I was at Bruno's in Ronkonkoma Saturday night, surrounded by a bunch of gloating Mets fans, but we all know who won. After last night I'm sure they'll be gloating some more, but it will be short-lived, why cause they are playing the YANKEES Baby!!!

Well I guess this is where I start to drool'in huh? Ya gotta admit, the games were Great! And what better teams? I only wished I could have been there. Everything about the series was great, right down to the Color Guard during todays National Anthem...
BUT...
...the really big bummer about the games ending is that I won't be able to see Bobby Valentines pretty face
till next year...

Hey Arlene,
...by the way, did any Yankee fans (or Met fans for that matter) go into NY to see the parade? I am going to get into the city this next trip this coming summer.See the sites,.... see Lettermen... the typical tourist stuff.I'd like to even get upstate this trip to see Bear Mountain. My parents took us there a lot when we were little kids. Hopefully you and I can meet for lunch or an ice cream or something when I come up there.
Ahh... lets make it pizza...
...No good Italian anything in Texas... only in New York!
and I can't wait...
I am planning to go sometime at the beginning of July and I'd like to find some bicycle riding buddies while I am up there.I'd love to see Long Island up close and personal this next time.Well ...if anybody up there would like to ride bicycles this summer all over the place then let me know.
p.s. They have a bunch of big bike riding clubs there too, if anybody wants the links to them, e-mail me and I will send em' to ya.
and YOU......have a great weekend!

METS CONTEST WORLD SERIES

NEW YORK (AP) - The New York Mets announced today that they are going to court to get an additional inning added to the end of Game 5 of the World Series.

The batting, pitching and bench coaches for the Mets held a press conference earlier today. They were joined by members of the Major League Players Union.

"We meant to hit those pitches from the Yankee pitchers," said the Mets batting coach. "We were confused by the irregularities of the pitches we received and believe we have been denied our right to hit."

One claim specifically noted that a small percentage of the Mets batters had intended to swing at fast balls, but actually swung at curve balls. It was clear that these batters never intended to swing at curve balls, though a much higher percentage were not confused by the pitches.

Reporters at the press conference pointed out that the Mets had extensively reviewed film of the Yankees pitchers prior to the World Series and had in fact faced the Yankees in inter-league play earlier in the year.

"The fact remains that some of the pitches confused us and denied us of our right to hit," said the Mets batting coach. "The World Series is not over yet and the Yankees are celebrating prematurely."

Major League Baseball has reviewed the telecast of all the World Series games and recounted the balls and strikes called by the umpires of each game.

"While some of the strikes called against the Mets were, in fact, balls, there were not enough of them to change the outcome of the World Series," the commissioner said.

Another portion of the Mets legal claim stated that, based on on-base percentage, the Mets had actually won the World Series, regardless of the final scores of the games. "It's clear that we were on-base slightly more often than the Yankees," said a Mets spokesman. "The World Series crown is rightly ours."

The manager of the Mets has remained in relative seclusion, engaging in some light jogging for exercise. He has stated that he believes "we need to let the process run its course without a rush to judgment".
