From: GEORGE RYAN 1972 Anyone else remember Pepcon's record shop, before they knocked down that side of Suffolk Av? From: BETTY BINKLEY 1977 To: GEORGE RYAN 1972 I remember when I was in St. John of God, my friends and I would go there to spend our allowances on 45's - remember those? From: GEORGE RYAN 1972 Oct-25 To: BETTY BINKLEY 1977 I mainly remember the type of store it was. Real small town. Not your Sam Goody or Hastings for sure. From: BRIAN DOHERTY 1974 To: GEORGE RYAN 1972 I remember the old guy behind the counter with his soggy cigar butts... From: GEORGE RYAN 1972 To: BRIAN DOHERTY 1974 Yeah! No book stores, no record stores, Everything is a chain. I miss that. My parents bought their 1st color TV on Suffolk Ave, but I don't remember the name of the store (I was young)But I do remember their calling to see how we liked it, Circuit City doesn't do that! From: WALTER AHREM 1973 To: BETTY BINKLEY 1977 betty, was it post tv From: PEGGY MAHONEY 1967 To: BETTY BINKLEY 1977 Pardon me for interfering--but it was probably Post TV--I was just talking about the "old" Suffolk Avenue with a friend on Sunday--and that store was mentioned!! Along with Carvel, Green Lantern, the Community Ambulance building and what evr else was there--we couldn't remember them all! I agree on the individual owner thing though--sad in a way!!! From: ANGELIA RICHTER 1982 To: GEORGE RYAN 1972 No Sorry I don't remember it but I remember a Deli at the end of my block on Pineville and Suffolk. My brothers got into a fight there and we weren't allowed in it anymore. From: ANGELIA RICHTER 1982 To: PEGGY MAHONEY 1967 Wow I remember the Carvel too. It had all the tables with the metal chairs in pastel colors. I haven't been to a carvel where you can sit and eat your ice cream in a long time.
