Class of 1961/1962 - 44th/45th Reunions August 4, 5, and 6, 2006 Dear Classmates:               I am sending this letter to you as a save the dates letter with the hope that each of you will be able to attend the Class of 1961 and Class of 1962 reunions which will take place at the Marriott Islandia Long Island Hotel, 3635 Express Drive North, Islandia, New York, (888) 686-5071 on the above dates.  This letter will also try to give you an outline of the proposed program and activities which will take place the first full weekend in August, 2006.    The proposed program and activities are as follows:   1.         Friday, August 4, 2006 - Beginning at 3:00 p.m. there will be a reception desk to welcome attendees at the Marriott Islandia.  We will need volunteers for this activity because we would like to hand out name tags, a questionnaire, and other items to make your reunion a pleasurable activity.  At 7:00 p.m. there will be a voluntary cocktail get together in the downstairs lounge area at the Marriott Islandia;   2.         Saturday, August 5, 2006 - It is our hope that we can tour our newly renovated high school beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed by a get together “hero sandwich luncheon at the Patchogue Baptist Church Basement Room.  Please note, the tour and the luncheon are not etched in stone at this time because we are waiting for approval from the school board to tour the high school and the approval for the luncheon at the Patchogue Baptist Church.  At 7:00 p.m. there will be a buffet dinner followed by dancing to the sounds of the TGIF Sounds & Sights, Inc. of Farmingville, New York.  It is also our hope that we will be able to introduce all of the surviving members of the student government, athletic teams, cheerleaders and teachers followed by short remarks.  A summary of the questionnaire answers will be presented by Dr. Santo Albano and there will be awards handed out to some of you who will be attending the reunion based upon the answers you provide on the questionnaire;   3.         Sunday, August 6, 2006 There will be a voluntary brunch as a farewell to everyone returning to their respective homes.               The cost for the evening dinner and dancing will be $100.00 per person.  You will not have to pay anything for the tour and the luncheon because several of us have already committed to underwriting the cost of same.  The room cost is $139.00 per night per room.  The planning committee strongly suggests that you immediately register at the Hotel to insure your obtaining a room at the Hotel because there is a major all Long Island soccer tournament that weekend.  The Hotel indicates that to protect yourself and your reservation that you should make your reservation no later than March 15, 2006.               Enclosed please find the latest informational directory put together by the planning committee for your records.  If possible, we would appreciate your providing to us new home addresses, new email addresses, and additional information regarding other classmates whose personal information is not included in the letter at your earliest convenience.  We hope that we will have a tremendous turn out.               Finally, the planning committee has decided that both classes will participate in funding two scholarships a year for a graduating senior at Central Islip High School.  One scholarship has been in existence since 2001 funded by the Class of 61.  The second scholarship will be funded by the Class of 62.  It is our hope that enough funds will be collected each year to provide $1,000.00 individual scholarships to two Central Islip High School Graduates who will be attending the college of their choice.               We look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you at the reunion.                                                                                       Cordially,                                                                                                                                                                          Mike Albano MJA/jf Cc:       Lou Adasse             Sandy Albano             Bill Gaskill
