Nicole Irene Gay published a book!
New Motivational Journal Touches Lives
art book. Part- Journal. All Inspiring. Motivating. Captivating. These are a few of the words to describe the latest literary offering from authors Nicole Gay and Cshia Holland. F.A.I.T.H. for the Journey: An Inspirational Guide for Women featuring Poetry, Photography, Testimonials, 24 month Calendar/Planner & Journal (ISBN 0-9728626-6-8) is a vibrant, combination of original poetry, stunning photography, provocative guided journaling, and inspiring tales of triumph over tragedy. F.A.I.T.H. is an acronym for Fully And Intensely Trusting Him. F.A.I.T.H. for the Journey features 24 different themes to carry the reader for a full 2 years. Each theme is represented by a Scripture, gorgeous photograph, a fill-in-the-bank calendar/planner and guided journal pages called Travelers Logs. The themes of Victory, Love, Joy, and Friendship are just few of the topics covered in the 168 full-color pages. The book also includes several uplifting stories of real-life courage and transformation.
Described as a party in a bag, each book comes packaged in a sparkling clear gift bag with decorative, festive shred and includes a matching pen. The cost is $20.00 and can be ordered via the website, www.myfaithbookclub.com or by calling 215.279.6645. Currently, books may be ordered directly from the authors/publishers.
One of the most noteworthy features of the word is that every one of the 52 models and testimonials who adorn the pages is a member of the Rock DreamCentre in Philadelphia, PA. Moms, daughters, and sisters of all ages emanate faith through beautifully staged shots sure to inspire and uplift the reader. The book is dedicated to Pastor Charlene Phillips of the Rock DreamCentre and the legacy of faith she left behind. The people who didnt have an opportunity to know her personally will be able to gain a sense of her spirit and hear her story of triumph just through the pictures and stories of her spiritual daughters.
Getting the book from an idea to a tangible reality was a journey in itself! When I started out five years ago, I had only envisioned creating a basic 12 or 18 month calendar with a few quotes here and there. . . I had no idea it would turn into this! Gay says. When Nicole shared her vision with Cshia, the two knew that they could create something phenomenal. Cshia wrote the poetry. Nicole completed the design and layout of the book. Both collaborated on the selection of the models, the staging of the photo shoot, and the post-production work of the finished product. Overall, the book was six years in the making from start to finish.
Nicole is no stranger to the world of self-publishing. In 2004, she self-published her first book, How to be a S.T.A.R.: The Young Persons Guide to Living Your Dreams & Finding Success which sold over 1,200 copies primarily through word of mouth advertising. Nicole says that the last four years have taught her significant lessons about writing, promotion, and publishing. She half-jokingly quips, My next book is going to be called Lord, If You Knew what it Took to Write this Book! Itll be a how-to guide to the world of promoting yourself as a self-published author.
To date, over 100 copies have been reserved and the authors are confidant that once the shipment arrives from overseas in the next few weeks, they are going to fly off of the shelves. Are the two worried about selling 1,000 first-run copies? Not at all, Cshia says cheerfully, as soon as people see the book, just the cover alone, they can tell its something special and they want to have it. Its been very easy to sell because its such a beautiful and useful item.
The authors credit their success and continued motivation to their faith in God and the strong support from their church and family. We have been totally overwhelmed by the amount of support weve received during the project. One of the very best times the two had occurred in August 2006 when the two orchestrated an all-day photo shoot complete with props, make-up and hair stylists and everything needed for a shoot resulting in 293 pictures.
Whats next for these up and rising entrepreneurs? Perhaps the more appropriate question is Whats not? This dynamic duo plans to start of line of greeting cards, expand their already established t-shirt design business, and eventually open a Christian bookstore. Nicole, a university instructor by day, plans on ghost-writing two more books and completing three other novellas in the net two years. Cshia, a radio producer by trade is excited about expanding her poetry open-mic venues and continuing other entrepreneurial pursuits.
The next big thing on their plate: the F.A.I.T.H. Premier Party. The Premier Book Party will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Palmer Theological Seminary from 6 pm to 9 pm. The event is free to the public and features dance and musical performances by special guest artists as well as a fashion, jewelry, and gift vendor showcase. The authors are also working on translating the book into Spanish, French, and Korean.
