Well, last Tuesday I had my first appointment with my new Neurologist.  I had to find a new one since the MDA Clinic Neurologist retired last April and they still haven't found anyone to replace him.  During my visit I this new doctor told me that he will be the new MDA Clinic doctor.  What a nice surprise!  My appointment was just a yearly MD check up that ended with a few surprises.  The first surprise is that I have to have a nerve test done at the end of this month.  I'm really not looking forward to this.  I had one done (attempted) once or twice as a child but it was never completed due to my screaming and crying.  I hope I've overcome that by now. For more information on what a nerve test is visit this link........ http://www.bgsm.edu/neurology/department/diagneuro/emg_pncv.html .  Also, this new doctor wants to start me on Creatine Therapy.  Read more about Creatine here at various links.... http://www.mdausa.org/disease/ccd.html .....or enter "CREATINE" in the search box at .... http://www.mdausa.org/search/ .
It sounds interesting.  The research proved to show that creatine therapy has made muscles in different forms of MD (one being CCD) stronger.

I've been taken off of Neurontin for a while to see if this is why I am so tired.  I knew Neurontin caused drowsiness but it just didn't register with me.  I will stay off Neurontin as long as possible and if I develop more energy then I will be placed on a different nerve medication that doesn't cause drowsiness.  He wants to see me every six months rather than every year.  I haven't had anyone offer to try treatments in years but maybe now medicine has advanced enough that treatments (no matter how small) are out there for us.  No cure......just comfort .

All in all, I am in good health.  Some areas have great strength and most areas have little strength (typical).  I did get my lift chair.  Oh!  It has been a great help.  So much easier for me to get up from sitting.  I know many of you know how it is....you go to someones house or to a restaurant and you scan all of the seating to hopefully find that ONE seat that isn't too low for you to sit in. Well, now I have one seat that I know will always be "just right".
