LAWS AND BY-LAWS:
1. Definition:
1.a. The ISPPI is a non-profit, educational and charitable organization concerned with the professional practice of philosophy and philosophical counseling.
2. Purpose and realization:
2.a. To stimulate contact and cooperation among philosophical practitioners by organizing goal oriented meetings for philosophical practitioners and counselors. For example, a study day for philosophical practitioners or an introduction course for beginning practitioners.
2.b. To contribute to the research of philosophical practice and
counseling by organizing academic symposiums and lectures.
2.c. To contribute to the increase of philosophical practice and
counseling by providing some free information and services
beneficial to the public.
2.d. To contribute to international cooperation among
philosophical practitioners and the professionalizing of
philosophical practice and counseling.
2.f. ISPPI is a branch of a registered organization, i.e. the International Society for Philosophical Practice.
3. Membership:
3.a. ISPPI Membership is 50 shekels (10 U.S. Dollars) a year (from January to January). The membership is automatically renewed unless members give notice of the discontinuation of his or her membership. Membership is divided in Regular and Associate Membership.
3.b. Regular members are required to have at least an M. A. in
philosophy or comparable credits in philosophy.
3.c. Associate membership is for all those interested in the
practice of philosophy.
4. Organization:
4.a Once in three years the Regular members will vote in a Executive Committee. At least 20% of the Regular members should be present for voting on any subject the Board of Directors proposes. Members of the Executive Committee have preferable at least three years of experience as philosophical practitioners. Officers on the Board of Directors are: a Chair-person, a Secretary/Treasurer and two additional Board members. All decisions will be taken in a democratic manner.
4.b. At least once a year there will be a meeting of the Regular
members. Regular members attending this gathering have
the right to raise issues for discussion and to vote. The Executive
Committee will bring controversial matters likewise to this
gathering to discuss.
4.c. At least once a year there will be a general assembly meeting
in which also the Associate members have the right to information
and discussion.
5. Code of Ethics:
5.1. Regular Members of the ISPPI, if involved in philosophical counseling, are requested to make a voluntary commitment to a Code of Ethics. The Executive Committee will present a blue print of the Code of Ethics to the next general regular year meeting.

By-law:
1. The ISPPI may charge those who participate in activities and events organized by the organization. However, such costs will be made known in advance and participation in these activities and events is voluntary.
