The Meditation of Preparation
The message
of this passage from Ephesians is a straightforward one:
The followers of Christ must be careful to live a Christian life. "Be
careful how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, making rhe most
of the time."
Pay attention, the writer of the letter tells hi friends in
Ephesus. Pay attention,
pay close attention. Pay attention closely and
pay attention to things close by. Pay attention to the important things
and, indeed, to all things. Pay attention now. Keep paying attention.

The Meditation of Commitment
Thou that
has given so much to me,
Give one thing more -- a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if thy blessing had spare days;
But such a heart, whose pulse may be
Thy praise.

Our time together
comes to a close,
but still the power of God's Spirit flows
and will continue flowing even when we say "amen."
Friends, let us go out courageously.
I'll pray for you; now, will you pray for me?
Until the day when we will meet again, we say "amen."
