In Fairyland
The fairy poet takes a sheet
Of moonbeam, silver white;
His ink is dew from daisies sweet,
His pen a point of light.
My love I know is fairer far
Than his, (though she is fair,)
And we should dwell where fairies are,
For I could praiser her there.

Fairies gleaming
Sunlight streaming
Brightly through their hair
Faces glowing
Gently blowing
Sparkles in the air
Gaily dancing
Weightless prancing
Tiny feet so bare
Softly flitting

Along the Path
As down the winding path I walk
Tiny fairies to me talk
And sing to me of happiness and light.
In the gentle summer breeze
Softly blowing through the trees
They dance about as swiftly comes the night.
Then as evening's stars are seen
And the earth turns darkest green
They become an even lovlier sight.
Glowing in a golden yellow
Floating in the air so mellow
To the darkness they bring such delight.
At the end of busy day
All my cares they take away
Lift my spirits to a lofty height.
Have you seen them as you go
Wandering from to to fro?
Truly want to see them and you might!

A spell for summoning the Fairies
Sit where your cat sits, cross your toes.
Close your eyes, and smell a rose.
Then say under your breath,
"I believe in fairies, sure as death"
Gadflykins! Gladtrypins!
Gutterpuss and Cass!
Come to me fairily
Each Lad and Lass!

O give me the ears of a fairy
To hear the trees growing,
The greeting of ants and of earwigs;
To hearken the lowing
Of tiny grass woods
Where wee winds are blowing.
O give me ears of a gaint

The earth swinging under:
Ah! we hear not and see not, but thinking
Fills life up with wonder!
