| I am not Shakespeare There is no Shakespeare about me No quirky aphorisms, no creative schemes No Doths, Thou's or Thee's I'm a simplicitan, simply speaking... One who gets the job done using basic capabilities bestowed opon them In some elementary classroom by an underpaid instructor That can't wait for their next smoke break The simple fact of the matter is (and I've thought this through) that ordinary writing ordinarily appeals to me Not that Shakespeare isn't good, just that his writings Doe Boreth mee Some say, You're a fool for thinking Shakespeare boring Maybe so... Does that mean I hate Shakespeare? On the contrary; He is a creative genius... just not a simple one Simplistic as I am I simply cannot exclude myself from all complexities. Rather, I look at complex things in a simple fashion (hopeful to always arrive at simple solutions) I am not Shakespeare; I am a simple-minded fool aspiring for anything that improves self Shakespeare appears as mythical genius to me My simple writing simply does not compare A fact of which my apple sauce brain is extremely proud |
| Shakespeare was suppposedly a populist playwright in his time, and his plays were meant to appeal to the masses whilst still containing enough thought-provoking material to satisfy the intelligentsia. His stuff is simple, but it's also complex when viewed on other levels. It doesn't need to be dissected to appreciate it. Look at the no-brainer modern movie versions of the tales for proof. |
