thoughts on a Brick Wall -12/2/03
"Talking to you is like talking to a brick wall." -Anonymous...ses
Why in the world am I writing about a brick wall?? I have nooo idea. I just get off Thanksgiving Break and come back to write on my website, so I'm thinking okay, I'll write about turkeys or being thankful or something. But no, I happen to look at a brick wall. This must be inspired. Otherwise I wouldn't be writing about a stupid brick wall.
A brick wall sits there and does nothing. It doesn't get much accomplished. Or does it?
Come to think of it, whether you hit your fist on a brick wall in frustration or crash into it on a bike, the brick wall was there first. And it was put there for a reason. Most likely a good reason. So whether we run into it or just think it's ugly or stupid, a brick wall has a reason for being what it is.
Sure, people tear them down all the time at construction sites, but for as long as it is there a brick wall has a purpose. Maybe we don't know what it is at the time, but knowledge, or a lack of knowledge, does not change the facts, what is real. It merely sharpens or skews our perception of what is real. So before we put down the brick wall because of this that or the other, let's take a moment to find out why it is the way it is.
Let's hear it for boring brick walls!
