Now it is Time for Racing Ka
Taking inspiration from preparing cars for the very successful Ford Ka Rally Championship, Ford Racing have developed a series of accessory kits for the road-going Ka, which can be fitted individually or as a complete package to create the Ford Racing Ka. With prices ranging from under �10 for individual items, to around �5,500 for an entire conversion, upgrades include:
* full bodykit comprising flared wheel arches, tailgate spoiler, 15-inch alloy wheels and low profile tyres
* suspension kit with Eibach springs and dampers
* engine upgrade kit including a modified cylinder head and exhaust
* gear kit with closer gear ratios from the Ford Puma
* interior kit with Ford Racing Sparco front seats
The Ford Ka has been a tremendously successful base for an entry-level rally car, renown for its excellent handling, robustness and reliability," said Philip Dunabin, engineering manager, Ford Racing. "Ford Racing Ka kits are intended to bring a little of that rally feel and performance to the road vehicle, to a level the customer desires."
A full conversion combining all kits gives the Ford Racing Ka a distinct performance advantage, with a 30 percent power increase (80PS over the standard car's 60PS), giving enhanced in-gear acceleration and responsiveness.
