Stephen Wagner of the fabulous www.paranormal.about.com website has written a lovely article about the Lilly E. Gray  mystery featuring my investigation.  I hope you will bookmark this blog and website and return to follow along as this story unfolds; I have many leads and avenues to follow, and will also be adding more cemetery stories, photos, legends, and other graveyard enigmas.  I am collecting all the above, and especially interested in little-known legends, personal experiences, anomolous photos and the like.  Please email me at [email protected] to submit.

It was a great artilce and you came off very well in it. Well done. :)

I am sure you have come across this before, but in case you haven't--this website gives a slightly different birthdate for Lilly, but, assuming this is the same Lilly Edith Gray, it states she died in 1938 but wasn't buried until 1958.

http://history.utah.gov/apps/burials/execute/viewburial?cemeteryid=SL2105&id=34242

I am just wondering your thoughts about this. Any comments welcomed, privately or on this board. Thanks!

hi jenny--i believe i wrote to you a while ago, but in case that was someone else who offered that 1938 date also...it is a simple mistake. If anything, it shows how common date mistakes can be. Lilly was married in 1950, and died in '58. The marriage is well documented, as well as the date of her death. just a misprint, typo, or mistake. thanks.

this may be reaching or already thought of but if u count june as the fall back...(count it) month, then it would be actually 6 months from nov......june=6th month, on the 6th day, with a 6 month span between the months.....if u had a family member who was religious but uneducated i could see how they would make the mistake of countin june rather then skipping ahead after all education was still poor in those times.....especailly if it was an older family member doing the inscribe
