The Reason for Random Battles

The Reason for Random Battles

There came a time when I couldn't come up with battles based on similarities. I thought that at this time I would have to stop doing battles until I came up with more. Then Matt came up with the idea of using a random number generator to match up fighters. I had already compiled a list of "unmatchables" in an Excel file which I adapted for this purpose. I added all the characters that I feel are on the same power level to the list and programed it to select two random numbers. The two numbers correspond to fighters on the list.

Matt and I agreed that although the similarity based battles were fun, they sometimes got boring since similar powers cancel out and then we resort to additional abilities. Myself, I enjoy superpowers and find it boring when a fighter wins because he cracks the other's helmet or something. The mixing of fighters allows for powers versus powers style of fights. There is a range of powers represented on the list and most of the time there are unfair battles. I ignore these simply because the purpose of random battles is to increase the intensity of the battles. I welcome suggestions for additions to my list.
