Top Batman protrayls

I recently saw Batman Begins and I thought it was great. I will probably do I review sometime later on it. Matt and I agree that this was the best Batman movie since the first one. I think it is better than the first one. So since this was on my mind I decided to do another of these top lists.

(#6)Adam West (Batman c.1966): His protrayl was the worst only because is was campy. Anyone that knows anything about Batman knows that he is supposed to be dark. But it was the 60's ad his show was for kids. It was good for what it was supposed to be. My problem with it was how much it hurt the whole idea of Batman outside of the comics. Forevermore, Batman will be associated with this cheesy show. Entertainment Tonight plays the 60's theme whenever they discuss Batman. Critics have complained that the new movie wasn't funny enough, that they spent too much time emphasizing the death of his parents. Even Matt was like, "that's his whole reason for being Batman!". So for not being Batman at all, it is #6.

(#5)George Clooney (Batman & Robin): He was only slightly better because he was supposed to be the way Batman is really. I say slighty becuase his protrayl was only slightly above campy. If I didn't know better I would have that he thought he was supposed to be acting like Adam West. I mean, Bat-Credit Card?! Come on! He made a good Bruce Wayne because Clooney is a pretty boy, but that is it. He fought like the 60's Batman. He was so close to being last but I thought at least he was trying to be normal.

Nipples!!!!

(#4)Val Kilmer (Batman Forever): Its like they only got slightly worse, from bad to worse but still a degradation. Where Clooney was a good charimatic Wayne, Kilmer was a good brooding Wayne. But he still sucked at Batman. Batman's voice is supposed to be a lower, menacing version of Wayne's. Kilmer tried and was close but not enough. He is higher on the list than Clooney because his Wayne/Batman sounded smarter.

(#3)Micheal Keaton (Batman c.1989): For the longest time he was second on my list. He looks great in the suit, Voice is right, attitude is wicked, even his Wayne looks good and sounds cocky. He even uses the most gadgets in the whole list. Here is the thing, his attitude as Batman was cool but then #2 and #1 showed up. Basically my reason for putting him at #3 is because he isn't number #2, haha.

(#2)Christian Bale (Batman Begins): My reason for putting him here is like my reason for Riker being #1 on the top 1st officers list, he has everything. Looks, sounds, acts like the real Batman (I find his Batman voice a little weird though, like his tongue gets in the way). Looks, sounds, acts like the real Bruce Wayne. He has what I believe is the essential Batman trait, the trait the makes him higher on the list then the rest. The reason he beat Keaton, his chin. Batman has that square chin, and so does Bale. Plus his Batman was scarier than the others, with the swooping down and stealling thugs thing. He is as close to Batman as any real actor can get. That being said, guess who beat him?

(#1)Kevin Conroy (Batman: TAS): I am considering him on this list because of all of them, he has been playing Batman the longest. It is a little unfair that he is at the top since his appearance is animated and so any of the above reasons I mentioned are really easy for him. But on the other hand, maybe not since there have been some animated Batmen that don't look right. My preference for the chin came from this show. My preference for the voice definitely came from the show. The way he changes his voice between Wayne and Batman was great. His attitude was great. Truthfully, it was a tie between Bale and Conroy because of the animated issue. So I put it to myself like this: who do I envision as Batman when I read a comic staring Batman? Answer is Conroy, but it was close.

Honourable Mention: Clark Bartram (Batman: Dead End): I didn't include him on the list but his wasn't too bad. Besides, he only really played Batman and not Wayne. He looks like a realistic Batman. He has the chin and his voice is close to the way I would want it to sound. His Wayne didn't seemed to bad, but we never heard him. As far as I'm concerned it was only half the protrayl, not enough for the list.
