The top 5 Best Star Trek Captains

The top 5 Best Star Trek Captains

This is my top 5 list of best to worst Star Trek Captains. I think the there are many reasons why we like Star Trek but its the Captain's moments that are always the best. The criteria that each one is based on are attitude, intelligence, toughness, determination, arrogance, and overall Starfleet material. There are 5 captains in total.

(#5) Catherine Janeway: She is the worst one because she thinks she is always right. Her determination is misplaced. She maintained protocol at the worse time. Although breaking the prime directive is common place for captains, she did it at the worse time. The Voyageur could have gone home if she just used the caretaker's array, but noe she had to stop the Kazan from acquiring the tech which they would probably blow themselves up with anyway. If this was any other crew they would have found a way home by the second day but her crew was incompentent and she did not know how to push them like a captain should. The only thing redeeming her is the last episode where she did what she should have done in the first, used and then destroyed a way home. But probably the worst thing was her interference in the species 8472- Borg war. If they had a way to defeat 8472 then let the borg get destroyed and then use the weapons to clean up the remaining 8472. No, she had to bargin with the borg, leading to them winiing and staying alive. What did she accomplsih with that? For this she's an admiral?

(#4) Jonathan Archer: Its only been two seasons but this guy has shown he is good enough to hold the title. He may move higher in the ranking when he has been in more than the usual Star Trek situations. He beats Janeway just because everyone should beat Janeway. No really, I think he beats her because we see what we should from him. In the episode with robotic space station that actually used people as harddrives, we see him get mad at tucker and malcolm for illegally entering the station's forbidden zones then ask them what they saw showing his observance of protocol then focusing on what is important to them (and us). When it came time to do some damage he didn't stop becaus of the other lost souls, he just blow up the station. That's what a Star Fleet captain is supposed to act like.

(#3) Ben Sisko: His voice is cool. What do I say? This guy was close to being fourth due to his bajoran ties. Why the hell did they do that? I don't care about some religious thing unless it gives him powers or something. He looked really cool when he got pissed off and his voice made all the difference in that. I can't take Archer or Janeway serious they get made I just see someone else when they get mad: Janeway-> my grade 8 teacher, Archer-> Dr. Sam Beckett who never said a bad word, a boy scout. This guy was someone you'd be scared of even if wasn't a captain.

(#2) James T. Kirk: He was the original so he gets credit for setting standards and he was always in fights or getting girls. He was a cool guy who got to be captain. His speeches were always fun to listen to. Almost all around complete except for one thing. He was clever but not intelligent. I think a captain should everything he would need to know. That seems to much to ask but the others seem to know how to reinforce the shields using blahblahblah, why doesn't he?

(#1) Jean Luc Picard: You know it had to be him. He has everything I said all the other had plus he was a thinking man. He took on Q without flinching and the borg head on. He has courage and intelligence and later he showed fighting skill. Each one, except Kirk, has taken on Q and each has fell for him. The were goated into his little games. Picard beat Q sort of, and for that he is #1.
