A Review of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

I saw this movie yesterday and I liked it. The visual style was great only if you got the point of it. I don't like hearing people complain about the blurriness, that's the point. The trash can robots were exactly what I would ave expected to see in a movie like this. I could have done without the film noir style scenes between Joe and Polly, but that is just me. The whole chessyness is what got me. I like this kind of stuff. I half expected the original JSA or the 1940's Superman to jump out of nowhere to fight the robots. I was disappointed with the ending, I would have liked to have seen more of a supervillian instead of vague plot to destroy the world. I didn't like some of the acting. I thought the whole tough guy act from JUde Law sucked. I believed Brendon Frasier more as a tough guy than I did Jude Law. He should have just played it as a cool ass brit and not a have assed impression of the guy of hero from these old movies. Overall, I think this movie is perfect for guys like me. Guys who are into the old style comics and cliched, classic sci-fi. I thought this was a fun movie, no depth to the story but a fun run through another universe, one that has been added to the random battle generator. When ever I can do that, I am happy.
