Review of Signs

I know this is already an old movie but I was thinking about this movie a short while ago and I wated to put my thoughts here for you guys to see. This movie was slow and boring, not to mention completely stupid. They tried to give us some back stories for the character but they still came out 2 dimenional. The fact that the aliens attacked residential areas and not military bases was really stupid. But here are the 3 stupidest things I have seen in movies for a long time:
1) The aliens have one main weakness that was made obvious near the end of the movie, water. Now this is a realistic weakness since a small number of people in reality suffer from severe water allergy. My problem with it in the movie is that of all the planets in the galaxy that these aliens would have found, they chose the one whose surface is covered mostly in water! If they wanted just the resources, then it is an acceptable risk I guess. If they wanted to enslave the human race, then again it is probably an acceptable risk. It still seems dumb to me that they came to Earth in the first place.
2) The crop circles turn out to be some kind marker for the rest of the fleet to locate the planet. What the hell is that? What, they don't sensors or at least some sort of stellar navigation? How the hell did they find there way from their planet to ours, arrows painted on asteriods? I mean come on!!! Think of something a little more involved and senseable, then make the movie. I hate when movies are made based on something some guy thought up on the toilet. "Hmmm, crop circles....., I know they are like targets of something." As if a massive invasion army is stupid enough to make such an obvious hint to their presence. 3) These aliens have traveled great distances in large, highly advanced ships. They must have wicked shielding to protect them from the stresses of space travel and those cloaks would be amazing in real life. So why then did they invade Earth naked and without any weapons? The tall brownish-green aliens just had some kind of poisonous gas and needles from their forearms. "Oooh! We puny humans are no match for those toothpicks you guys shoot! All we have are BULLETS(!)." I mean come on, at least those cheesy 1950's movies gave aliens lasers and armour. These aliens sent one guy at a time weaponless against some fag with a baseball bat, and he lost. For all their technology they could come up with a weapon? They are malicious enough to invade the planet but not to use a weapon? What kind of leadership do they have? What did they expect to happen when Earth's military found out? This is the stupidest thing about the movie.

How is this movie some kind of masterpiece?
