This was the first battle that my friends and I disagreed upon. This battle has to take place within the Matrix or else
Neo has no powers. Therefore the arena is a matrix construct resembling the parking lot of my old high school, the usual arena as mentioned
in my opening paragraph. The problem came when my friend said that Luke would somehow know he was in the matrix. For the purposes of continuity, Luke can not detect the matrix, it opens too many
doors. Another problem was that we gave Neo too much credit when it came to his powers. He was seen for most of the movie using guns
and only his powers at the end. I said that Neo's guns are useless against a light sabre, which seems to happen a lot. It comes down to other powers.
Neo knows Kung Fu, amoung other skills. Luke has his light sabre. Neo is fast, really fast. Luke has a metal hand. Do you see where I'm going?
Neo is too fast for Luke and is only limited by his will. The one thing that Luke can do is use the Force. But I reasoned that since they are in the Matrix,
Luke would only be trying to touch the digital projection of Neo's self and therefore not Neo himself. Thus no mind tricks. Luke could throw stuff at Neo, but again Neo can manipulate the matrix.
He would stop any projectile like he did those bullets. Everything points to Neo's victory.
Winner: Neo
Updated after Reloaded: I saw the sequel and now we both agreed that Neo would beat Luke too easily that this battle
is not that interesting anymore. I would not have done this battle if Neo had this powers before.
