Maximus (Gladiator) vs. Sir William Wallace (Braveheart)
Maximus (Gladiator) vs. Sir William Wallace (Braveheart)
Is it just me or are these two movies the same damn story? I liked both of them a lot, don't get me wrong. But the plot is similar and the story unfolds in the same way, right down to the heroic death.
Also, before this there was never a battle between normal humans. It was a challenge to deterine this one. It was a long time before I came to a conclusion. I switched
winners frequently before I finally sent the email out. Wallace will be given his long sword and Maximus his short sword. Each type of sword calls for
a certain style of swordplay, so its even in that respect. Wallace was a very intelligent man for that time period. Maximus was the general of the most successful army in Earth's history.
This should even out the mental part of the battle. Military training in the Roman empire would have made Maximus tough and strong. Farm work probably
made Wallace strong but not tough. Maximus was a fierce fighter. I thought that Wallace was fierce as well but not to the degree that Maximus was.
Plus Maximus would be wearing that leather armour he is seen wearing in the movie. His fierocity will give him the cutting edge over Wallace.
