Freddy Kruger vs. Dr.Destiny (JLA)

Both these guys attack their victims in their sleep and use their fears against them. But from what I've seen Dr.Destiny uses his victims fears better than Freddy does. Freddy seems to use general things that would scare any normal person, like him with huge claws or shadows and crap like that. There are those times when he uses the particular fear of the victim, as most recently seen in Freddy vs. Jason. But Dr.Destiny tailors his nightmare to the particular fears and paranoias of his victims, which I believe to be a more effective tactics since they typically are of a personal nature and those hurt the most. I suspect that the differing tactics come from their differing backgrounds. Freddy was a serial killer that was burned alive by parents, thus he attacks children and teenagers with stuff that they are afraid of, usually the general things work well enough. A janitor turned serial killer probably has little imagination. I am not too clear on Dr.Destiny's backstory but I do know that he had some connection to psychology, either as a patient or a doctor. Either way he understands the ideas behind the mind's fear and nightmares. This is useful since the common Justice Leaguer isn't afraid of generally scary things. So I think that Freddy is just a boogeyman and Dr.Destiny is a calculated nightmare. Their control over the dream reality is equal in my opinion. This battle takes place in a dream reality that looks like my arena. They would try to use each other's fear against each other. Freddy's fear is not being scary anymore since he looses power that way. Dr.Destiny's is probably that he is nothing more than a simple human with no powers. I think Dr.Destiny hasa better chance of making Freddy think he is powerless against children than Freddy convincing Dr.Destiny that he is powerless. Dr.Destiny not only uses reality warping to induce fear but he uses words, that seems to be the different in their tactics. Dr.Destiny creates the image of a school yard where a whole bunch of kids appear and look over at the two of them standing there. Then suddenly they begin to laugh and giggle as they run over to Freddy. He begins to do whatever to scare them, but it only makes the kids laugh more and then they begin to hug him. This would shoot his confidence and therefore his powers right down. Freddy could reverse the image use his control over reality but the damage would already be done. This would be a win for Dr.Destiny but lets assume thast Freddy isn't done yet. Freddy isn't creative enough to convince Dr.Destiny that he has no power. The result is hand to hand combat. I can only base this aspect of the fight on what I've seen them do before. Freddy has his claw, some teleportation techniques, and stretching. Dr.Destiny can increase his size, grow claws on both hands, extend his cape to grab people, and I think some energy projection. Over all I think Dr.Destiny's experience fighting superheroes and his creativity with his powers beats Freddy, whose toughest opponent thus far has been a an undead brute in a hockey mask.

Winner: Dr.Destiny
