Flash vs. Shang Tsung (Mortal Kombat)

Its been a while since I've played Mortal Kombat but I still remember enough about Shang Tsung to be able to use him in a battle. There have been improvements o the entire series of characters, which of course affects this character since he can change into any one of them. The Flash is too fast to fall prey to the conventional attacks seen in MK, such as firballs and exaggerated martial arts moves. I had determined that Flash would win, until I did some research into what the current special moves of the characters are. At first I thought that Flash could run around Tsung punching him rapidly like he always does. These attacks would be too fast for any of the shapes Tsung could take and would eventually hurt even Goro. I can't remember if Flash's suit negates the jetstream that would be created from his superspeed, I think he has a choice in this manner therefore I will let him send crap flying at Tsung. Also, Flash running in a circle around Tsung causes a whirlwind that would send Tsung flying. Of course Tsung is not helpless, he could Transform into Rayden and teleport out of the way of the debris or transform into Subzero and ice the floor so that Flash slips and crashes into a wall. The way to stop Flash is to cancel ou his speed. He can steal speed from objectives and people and vibrate out of phase to allowstuff to pass through him, so throwing stuff at him won't work. In my research I found that the newer moves and characters would allow Tsung to defeat Flash. (Note: I don't know for sure if Tsung has to have stolen the soul of an opponent first to copy their power so by my rules he can't transform into the Flash.) Subzero has a new move called ice clone which creates an ice sculpture of himself that freezes opponents on conact. If he did this before the Flash attacks, Flash probably wouldn't notice and would get frozen. This seems a little improbable and not too fair. never fear since the Flash would vibrate out of it anyway. Reptile's invisibility would give Tsung another advantage since the Flash can't hit want he can't see. But if I remember correctly this only lasts until he gets hurt. Flash would eventually hit him but he could just become invisible again until he reaches the time limit of his transformations. There are three moves in particular that my research uncovered that I believe will allow Tsung to finally defeat Flash. The malestrom of objects sent flying at Tsung by the Flash's jetstream won't hurt Tsung in the form of a character Kabal (and various others it would seem) who happens to have a move called Projectile Reflection. This move reflects any projectiles back at their initial speeds when coming in contact with the body. This won't hurt the Flash but it will protect Tsung. Next is a move called Homing Missile (I don't remember which character can do this move) which is undodgeable according to my research. The Flash could probably fake this thing out and send it into a wall or something but it will keep him busy. The final move is one from a character called Noob Saibot called Disabler, which can stop an opponent from using their special moves. In normal terms that means stopping them from using their special powers, therefore Tsung could use this to cancel Flash's speed. However this is applied to the opponent doesn't matter since Flash has to get close to punch Tsung anyway. Once he is hit it doesn't matter how long it lasts since Tsung has so many moves he's waiting to use on the now fully human Flash. In the end it was exactly how I said it would have to be, cancelation of his speed did him in. Shang Tsung is a powerful sorceror and the final boss of a once hard (for me anyway, lol) video game, of course he should win.

Winner: Shang Tsung
