Data vs. Predator
This isn't exactly a random battle as I have described it before. This battle was suggested by Matt based on a quote
about how Data could move quickly through a jungle like environment. He wanted to put him against the Predator since he is
also quick in a jungle. This battle will however take place in my arena. I put it here since there is no similarity between them.
The Predator's cloak is only a visual cloak and therefore he can be detected by Data's tricorder. I think as soon as Data
realizes he is fighting an invisible foe, he would program he tricorder to track the Predator and set up a proximity alert
in case he gets close. The Predator has a wrist mounted blade that is perfect for impaling Data, much like in that episode where he lost his memory.
He would die or shut down from such an attack but because of the proximity alert, Predator can't get close enough to do this.
Predator's frisbee weapon is a perfect long range weapon. Matt and I discussed how this weapon would easily decapitate Data and that this would also
kill Data. But we thougt that Data's skeleton may be constructed of a super strong metal that would not be easily cut by the frisbee weapon.
In a case such as this the rules are clear: if we are not sure than we side with the defender. In this case Data's metal skeleton is assumed
to be strong enough to resist the frisbee weapon. The only weapon left to the Predator is the shoulder blaster. I am assuming that both Data and Predator have equal targeting skill
and that they can both dodge each other's attacks. The Predator's cloak does allow him to attack unseen and his blaster
does work concurrently with the cloak so he can attack while cloaked. This is how I see the fight ending. He would
climb to the top of my old high school and then sniper Data while cloaked. Data could detect him with the tricorder but not
pinpoint his position enough to stop this kind of attack, just the general direction in would come in. Predator seems to aim for the torso by default.
This is an easy target and he would not take the chance of missing a shot since Data too fast to give chances to. The blaster shot would go right through
Data's body. If one shot to the upper torso doesn't kill him then it would certainly cause sever damage. But I think that Predator would
hit him a couple times and eventually hit the spot in Data's abdomen that causes him to shut down.
Winner: Predator
