I love doing battles where the guys have similar powers, it causes me to think harder about the use of the power.
Amazo is one of the most powerful characters in the DCU since he has all the powers of everyone in the JLA. Absorbing Man
is just as dangerous. He has taken on some the most powerful guys in the Marvel Universe including Spiderman, Hulk, Thor, Juggernaut, The Avengers, Ultron, etc.
Again we see the same phenomenon here as we did in Parasite vs. Absorbing Man where
the ability to copy/steal another's power results in copying/stealing the abiltiy to copy/steal a power. Therefore they will end up having the same powers. I originally
thought that in this battle this would not be the case, since Amazo can already fly and shoot energy blasts and therefore would not allow Absorbing Man to get
close enough to touch him. Amazo can just copy his power from far away, I am stil not clear as to how he does it but it doesn't seem to requireany sort of contact like Absorbing Man does.
Amazo can use all the powers at once as well so he could use Absorbing Man's powers at the same time as the rest of the JLA's. But this
isn't the end of things. Absorbing Man's powers allow him to copy the attributes of anything he touches, therefore he can become any energy that Amazo fires at him.
Amazo would definitely use a power ring in an attack, either by firing plasma or knocking Absorbing Man around with a giant hammer. Contact with then
be made between the power ring construct and Absorbing Man, thus he can become power ring energy. This would allow him to fly and create constructs as well. Eventually
the two will come in physical contact since Amazo would probably go for a physical attack. I am not sure since he may realize that Absorbing Man's power is limited to physical contact,
either by observing Absorbing Man in action or by having the power himself. I think that Absorbing Man will eventually come in contact with Amazo. I say this because a physical attack is the only thing left to Amazo after Absorbing Man absorbs the energy attacks.
Once this happens the whole gets crazy. In Universe X we saw that when Absorbing Man fought and copied Ultron, he not only copied his adamantium armour but also his digital mind.
This gave him the added ability to recall all the attributes of all the materials he has touched. Amazo is an android. So in addition to both having the combined powers of the JLA, the ability to copy the attributes of things they touch, the ability to copy the powers of nearby superbeings, they now both have the combined powers of whoever Absorbing Man has come into contact with.
These powers all at once against each other would destroy my arena, leaving only smoking rubble and the two of them.
Here is where I have to go into other things like experience, fierocity, intelligence, and stamina. Experience and fierocity are about the same. Amazo, being an android, has no limit to his stamina. I don't think Absorbing Man has a time limit to his powers and probably doesn't have problems in this area now that he copied Amazo's powers.
So it comes down to intelligence. Absorbing Man was known as a dumbass in the old days, but he doesn't seem to be that way anymore due to his recent appearance in the Hulk
where he showed of his ability to "absorb" minds. I think he is now as smart as those people he "absorbed" (ie: a couple of scientists). I'm not sure about this but according to my rules he is because I guess this counts as a defence.
Amazo is an android and is therefore really intelligent. The only thing that I can think of is since Amazo is an android he can think much faster than
Absorbing and therefore find a weakness to exploit much faster than Absorbing Man. The only thing left to exploit would be personal things like memories or loved ones.
Amazo only has his creator and he wants him dead so that doesn't work. Absorbing Man has his wife who he loves very much. Even though Absorbing Man
is much smarter than before, he would still fall prey to an illsuion of his loved one in danger just like anyone else. Or
at least long enough for him to let his guard done. Amazo can use J'onn J'onzz's telepathy to do this. He can put Absorbing Man
in a coma or something that way. That is a win since he can't recover fast enough from it, if at all.
