5 things common to all the James Bond films

These are things that I have notcied after watching almost all of the James Bond films. These are based more on the older films since political correctness has almost destroyed the best parts of these movies. Here are the five, in no particular order:

(1) The Theme From Dr.NO: or more popularly known as the James Bond theme song. This was the theme to the first movie and has become its trademark theme. Although there have been more modern songs to come along, this one is always played in the movie in one form or another (techno version or whatever). They may be some movies that don't have it but I think it is seen in the majority. The movie's specific theme is played of course but that goes without saying.

(2) The Name of the Movie: James Bond movies are known for their outlandish names. But as outlandish as they always are, the writers always work them into the movie's dialogue. This is one of the 5 that never seems to fail. It is easy to say this about movies like Dr.No or Goldfinger where the name is the same as the main villian, imagine how hard it was to work in "The World is Not Enough" into the movie. I always listen carefully to catch this one since they work it in so smoothly.

(3) "Oh James.": Bond always gets the girl, that is a trademark of the movie, but that is not the commonality I am discussing here. Usually near the end of the movie he is getting it on with the girl and she says "Oh James". This is the one "bond" (forgive the pun) that did not transfer easily to the newer movies with Pierce Bronson due to its objectivefying of women. I am all for women's rights but what the hell, its Bond for crying out loud! It did make it into Die Another Day near the end when Moneypenny is with a virtual Bond, and she says the line. I suspect that the writers threw that in as a homage to the classic bond films, much as Q's comments about his watch and the labs contents were put in for the same purpose.

(4) "Vodka Martini, Shaken Not Stirred": Again this is another line that is said at most once per film. This sort of goes without saying. This is the least interesting one to watch for when watching the movie. I just added it here since it is one of the 5. (It should be pointed out that a Martini's base IS Vodka, therefore this line makes no sense.)

(5) "Bond, James Bond": Probably the single most famous line from this franchise. It has been said in all of the films I have seen. This is one trademark that was carried right over to the new ones without delay. Each actor has had his own way of delivering the line but each was excellent (except for Lazenby, I don't why they made that one.). I still to this day think that the best delivery was the very first: Sean Connery in Dr.NO. The pause inbetween was excellent, his facial expression fantastic. The only other Bond to reach this level of coolness is Pierce Bronson in Goldeneye. His charm made it too cool.

Here they are, For Your Eyes Only.

Cemetery will return in "The Best Bonds"
