December, 2005
Dear Friends,
It is
already four months since I left Washington DC, and I am ashamed to have
allowed so much time to pass without writing to you. But going home and
settling down after an absence of several years takes more time than I had at
first thought; I hope that you will understand and forgive my long silence.
I often think of the happy years spent in US. I really miss the life and friends there. Our happiness is with deep gratitude that I recall your many kindnesses, your friendship and help. I remember the wonderful times spent together, working for WEMF, talking about music and many other things, and I donft know how I should thank you I was able to have such a wonderful relationship with you.
Today, I would like to tell you what is happening during my settling down in the middle of Tokyo.
In short, there are too many people in everywhere. In addition, the things which bother me are informative noises. If you walk around the city, you hear a lot of ads announcements which let you know where you can expect the big sales or so. Of course they are sometimes useful, but that is just too loud and annoying for me. Anyway, I am fine and I started performing in Tokyo and other cities again. The picture above is one taken after the concert in Hokkaido, the northern island in Japan.
It is a distinct honor to be invited to WEMF 2006 as a performer. At latest we will see each other then. Looking forward to that day, I send you our sincerest thanks and warmest wishes for your continued good health and a happy new year 2006.
Best regards,
Atsuko Ikeda
