Letting Go
By: Jeff Scott

Faulted, she fell as all watched in horror

Plunged into a pool of her own construction

She struggles to break free

Lies mounted, over time

Now manifested- in the mirror

She does not know - where she came from

Mist covers those eyes once bright and lively

Now jaded and passive

Gritting her teeth she seeks revenge

For the crime committed so long ago

Like snakes that seduce

Her own lies betray her

The crime committed

Was against herself, her soul,

She does not know where she is

Tragic- confusion she cannot find

Who she is,

Her back breaks under the weight of the past

She carried all these years,

Let it go, let it go.
