Eowyn's Lament for Rohan | ||||||
Alas for the White Horse of Rohan. Torn, it falls. Bitter tears fill my eyes. Is this how we are to end? Torn and weak, sunken in darkness? Once we were strong, valiant, brave. But now a snake has crept among us. He has slain our strength. There was nothing I could do. What bitterness these days hold for me! Hope is dead. Our king is falling to darkness. His son, dead, my brother banished. In these dark days, where shall we find hope? -Frodo Baggins |
