| I'm the little one in the middle. The man on the left is one of my Hellhound brothers-in-arms and the man on the right was our opponant the day this picture was taken. Want to hear the story behind this picture? Click here | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| I'm a card-carrying member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. The SCA is a pre-17th century historic reenactment group that spans the globe. I am a SCA heavy fighter, which is to say full contact armored combat. There are also what is considered 'light' fighters in the SCA. The light fighters are fencers, 'wire-weenies' or the 'swishy-pokers' as we heavies like to call them. The light fighters have terms for us too, the most popular one seems to be 'stick jock.' There is a kind of informal good-natured rivalry between the two styles. As you can see from the picture above we do wear a full suit of armor and we do not use live steel. SCA heavy, while fun, does have rules. We have an entire sets of guidelines on what is considered SCA legal for my Kingdom (Kingdom of Atlantia). |

| This is a shot of me OUT of armor at an SCA event. That's my SCA big brother though we've been told we could pass for siblings in mundane life too. Can't imagine why....Hmmm...think it might be the hair? | |||||||||||||||||||||||
