Crash and Burn

Salty tears rolled down the flushed warm cheeks and heaves of breaths caught and released, the sound of crying moans whimpering through a pair of lips. God, she hated him. More so because he hadn’t chased after her when he was what she had needed most. But cursed herself, knowing it was her fault for walking away in the first place and not letting him in on what was wrong. It made him feel helpless, she knew, and made him fumble for what to do. This wasn’t the first time she hadn’t trusted him and hadn’t let him in. It was so hard to give. Especially when it was unexpected of his actions. Her eyes were puffy and red and her muscles ached from the feat of her body racking with sobs, and her temples throbbed.

When you feel all alone

And the world has turned its back on you

Give me a moment please, to tame your wild wild heart

I Know you feel like the walls are closing in on you

It’s hard to find relief

And people can be so cold.

Hannah brought her knee’s up to hug them to her chest and rest her forehead on her knee’s. Her brows were in a frown as her sobs rocked her back against the wall. God, she wanted his arms around her. She wanted them so bad to hold her as she cried. But she knew he wouldn’t come. He was a tough man and he would make her come to him when she needed to. Pride wanted her to hold back, sticking with the strong, independent woman routine.

When darkness is upon your door

And you feel like you can’t take anymore…

She straightened up from the wall and fumbled through the dark room to the door. Her arms crossed over her torso to grasp her other arm at her side, as her shoulder’s slouched and rose with her sniffles. She opened the door and stepped out. And saw him, looking down at the floor leaning against the wall. Her embarrassment came and went when she knew he had been listening to her scream and cry. She hesitated as she moved to step in front of him. His eyes met hers and her tears poured out in relief at the feel of them looking into hers. He stood up from leaning on the wall and held out his arms. “If you need me…” Hannah didn’t wait a beat and surged forward and collapsed in his arms, her sobs beginning again as she clung to him.

Let me be the one you call

If you jump, I’ll break your fall.

Lift you up and fly away with you into the night

If you need to fall apart

I can mend a broken heart

If you need to crash

Then crash and burn you’re not alone.
