Broken Promises
Undoubtedly young people
Will whimper when
Reminded of lifetimes
Of promises profoundly
Given, and
Greedily taken away;
Why winsome minds
Should seduce suicide
As though it were a
Warm winter wrap
Pulled tight around
A cold lonely heart
Is more than a question,
For there can be no answer
And yet, in my empty
Locker lies lonely
DEATH: Deep shed tears
Will wash away none
Of the blood that beats
Furious, river rapid
Anger each time
I, too, am reminded
Of lifetimes of promises
Broken, and of
Loneliness.
