| During the summer of 1987, the year of Harmonic Convergence, my friend and I lived in Venice Beach, California. We had hitchhiked to Los Angeles wearing every earring we owned and carrying nothing but our ripped up t-shirts and jeans, my poetry, and battered books like Siddhartha, and Seth Speaks in our packs. It was a summer of experiences never to be forgotten nor regretted. It was our Summer of Love, our time of Kerouacian freedom. I even spent the dawn of August 16, the moment of Harmonic Convergence, meditating on the beach. I am certain Jim Morrison's spirit was with me, telling me that now I had not wasted the Dawn. It was a summer full of interesting, exotic, and frightening experiences. The following stories are based on truth. They are embellished for effect, but every person really existed.
