The Dead Man, The Devil and The Honey Man
Three True Venice Beach Vignettes

During the summer of 1987, the year of Harmonic Convergence, my friend and I lived in Venice Beach, California.  We had hitchhiked to Los Angeles wearing every earring we owned and carrying nothing but our ripped up t-shirts and jeans, my poetry, and battered books like Siddhartha, and Seth Speaks in our packs.  It was a summer of experiences never to be forgotten nor regretted.  It was our Summer of Love, our time of Kerouacian freedom.  I even spent the dawn of August 16, the moment of Harmonic Convergence, meditating on the beach.  I am certain Jim Morrison's spirit was with me, telling me that now I had not wasted the Dawn.  It was a summer full of interesting, exotic, and frightening experiences.  The following stories are based on truth.  They are embellished for effect, but every person really existed.  Everything happened.  They are mysteries never meant to be solved...
